The simple Will checklist (5 things to decide)

Arrive prepared, leave relieved. Here’s what we’ll ask—no trick questions.

1) Who gets what

List the people/charities you’d like to benefit and how. Include any specific gifts (e.g., jewellery, a watch, a charity donation).

2) Executors

Pick the organised person. You can choose family, friends, or professionals. Two is common. (Bribes of cake are optional.)

3) Guardians for children

If you have under-18s, name guardians. Think values, location and practicality—not just who’s fun at birthdays.

4) The big stuff (home, savings, life insurance)

Have a rough idea of your assets and where the paperwork lives. Life policies can often be written in trust to make things smoother.

5) Funeral wishes & “the little things”

Burial/cremation preference, music, or anything that will make your people smile when they remember you.

Bonus: Digital life

List important logins/accounts for executors (not in the Will itself). Keep it safe and up to date.
